Comb Ridge

Comb Ridge

Comb Ridge is a sandstone ridge thrust up out of the desert crust, running nearly a hundred miles north to south in southeast Utah. The face of the ridge looms over Comb Wash, immediately to the west. After an unusually wet spring of 2020, a drive up the wash revealed a dramatic reflection of the sandstone cliffs to the east. The near monochrome tan of the sand and rock seemed to call for black and white. December 2020 1st prize, Arundel Camera Club.
