I am a lifelong photographer, starting with the family's ancient box camera in the 1950's. In the most recent decade, I have been doing a limited amount of commercial and real estate photography while working to improve my expertise with the camera and with post production.
The Arundel Camera Club in Severna Park, Maryland has been a competitive, yet nurturing photography "home" for me. The talented leaders and members have generously fostered learning for many skilled photographers over several decades. I was fortunate enough to achieve Frederick R. Kelly Photographer of the Year Award in 2017 and 2019.
I am also a member member at large on the Executive Council of the Maryland Photography Alliance (MPA), which supports the work of nineteen community photography clubs statewide. I am certified by the MPA to judge photography competitions and judge club level contests across the region. in 2017 and 2019, gallery shows sponsored by the MPA have each selected one of my images for display.
I have been photographing people and places for decades, but I continue to learn more about the art and the technology of photography. In recent years, I have added youth league sports photography to my list of experiences, but that's largely a grandfather duty that has turned into a lot of fun for me.
Over the past decade or so I have traveled often to the Southwest and have attempted to capture some of the desert magic and the history. However, a lot of additional travel has been up and down the East Coast, and I have been enjoying the scenery here through the lens.
I maintain this website as a way to document my travel photography as well as my photo whims and fancies as I learn. Please visit my photo galleries and my blog. I sincerely hope that these images bring some meaningful memories to you.
