In March 2012, we stumbled upon this group of school desks in the Bisti Badlands in Northwest New Mexico. The desks were sitting on a concrete pad that once was the floor of a gymnasium, apparently burned down some years ago. Seven photos were used to produce this HDR image. The image was stark and strange, set against the harsh Bisti desert and crisp blue sky. The photograph was named the best Novice digital image for 2011-2012 in the year-end competition of the Arundel Camera Club.
