This orb spider captured my interest last summer in the many spider webs on the porches and windows outside of the house. The image was awarded the 2012-13 Photograph of the Year from the Arundel Camera Club. In the same competition it was awarded first place in the Novice Monochrome Print category. The image was captured using a 25 mm macro extension tube paired with a Canon 24-105mm f/4 lens. An off-camera flash was used to illuminate the critter, who sat patiently for several shots until I captured this one.
