This orb spider clung to the outside of the downspout, but with a step stool I was able to shoot him with the on-camera built-in flash and both a 250 lumen LED light and an off-camera slave flash. My lens was my reliable 50mm f/1.8 mounted on a 25 mm extension tube, shooting from my Canon 60D. Using a monopod to steady the shot, the spider sat still through several tries, with this one being my favorite of the lot. Notice the eyes looking back at me.
