Double Arch

Arches National Park, near Moab, Utah, is a feast for the eyes, as you scan the landscape in every direction. Double Arch is one the iconic photographer's spots that attracts its share of visitors. I was captivated by the impossible double stone arches of the feature and sought an angle that would tell the story best. Looking toward the heavens, this photo is one of my favorites of the park because it confuses the lightness of the heavens and the heaviness of the earth in ways I had not expected. Black and white seemed to be the best medium to convey this for me.
